Make Way For the King!

This amazing play chronicles the events leading up to Palm Sunday and closes with a dramatic altar call.  Bring the Bible to life with every detail pulled directly from Mark chapters 10 and 11.

Our challenge with this play was to be as close to the scripture as possible and still make it an exciting drama (complete with music).  We wanted to make Jesus as up close and personal as possible and at the same time show why they killed Him.  Throughout the play, a lot of imagery is used to show how deeply Jesus loves people.

We also wanted to show that Jesus spoke plainly about His death, burial and resurrection.

Requires 12 to 16 main characters with speaking parts and plenty of room for non-speaking parts.  Along with the adults, small children are required for two scenes.  You have the flexibility to have a large cast or scale it down according to your needs. Approximate running time is 45 minutes.

The play begins with a multitude rushing Jesus begging for deliverance and Him healing as many as He could.  It then proceeds to the Pharisees questioning Him about marriage and divorce (what a timely subject).  Then see the Rich Younger Ruler ask what he is lacking. Watch Bartimaeous cry out at the gates of Jericho. The woman with the issue of blood will press through the crowd to touch the hymn of his garment and be made whole.  By the time you get to the altar call, there won't be a dry eye in the house!
