In my upcoming play "Not Guilty", I explore the battle between Christ and Satan. I need not tell you how devistating lies and slander can be. Satan sought to defeat Jesus through damaging His reputation with lies and deceit. In fact, the devil spent four thousand years laying the ground work here on earth.
Although Satan anticipated a supernatural tug of war, he was ill-prepared for Jesus' steadfast commitment to principle. From a very early age, Jesus never lost sight of His purpose for being on this earth. He was simply more committed to His cause than Satan was to His destruction. The very thing that Satan refuses to lay down- PRIDE- Jesus humbly gave it up willingly. Satan was angry but he had no answer to humility.
Many of you are ministry leaders. My question for you today is: How committed are you to the vision that God has given you? Do minor set backs, frustration, demonic attacks- easily derail you from your course? Maybe you need a humility check up. Don't allow Satan to lure you off the track in order to argue with him.
That play reminds me of a principle (that I didn't invent) but can be applied to all of our lives and to everything that we do. The principle simply is- the most committed wins. Perhaps if Christians took this idea seriously, there would be less divorce among us, less sickness and more joy.
Just something to think about.
