PLAYHOUSE MINISTRIES HAS DONE IT AGAIN!

Sometimes, you just hit the nail right on the head!

In keeping with the great tradition started by "Edges of Life," this is a short, fast paced play that packs a powerful punch.

All great Christian drama has certain elements that make it unforgettable.

It speaks to real issues that real people face.

It captures and holds an audience from the very beginning.

It touches all the emotions; you laugh, cry and soul search.

It's simple enough for all to understand.

It leads people to Jesus and motivates them to do better!

delivers all of that and more!  I wrote this play with the small local church drama club in mind.  I understand that everyone can't do over the top big budget productions.  Nor does everyone have a 50 member troupe to work with.  This play takes care of those concerns without sacrificing the quality.  Check out some of what you don't have to worry about.

  • Required props are reduced to a bare minimum.  Not just for financial reasons but the story is so compelling that I don't want the audience to focus on anything but the acting.

  • Only six characters in the entire play.  One of the biggest issues with church plays is finding enough people to participate.  You won't have that problem with this one.  Three males and three females.  That's it.

  • Long complicated scenes that take months to prepare for doesn't show up in this one either.  Memorizing and delivering a great script is your only concern.

  • Low Cost.  This is the other big hurdle that small groups can't get over.  No problem with this one.  $11.95 is all you pay for a play that you'll love.

Yes, I really thought this through.  I wanted to give you a quality play but eliminate all of the tough obstacles at the same time.  Listen, the right play is just as effective as the best sermon that I can preach.  Christian drama really is that powerful.

On to the story line.  A man comes home from work only to discover that the locks have been changed.  He peeps through the window and sees that his wife is home.  Why won't she let him in?  The worst possible thing has happened.  She's discovered his secret.

Trey is the best high school basketball player in the country.  Everyone is predicting that he will be chosen number one in the NBA draft.  Nike has already offered him a 20 million dollar shoe and commercial deal. He's never used drugs or been in any trouble.  But he has a secret that changes everything.

Why is the preacher's wife who led so many others to Christ on the verge of  a nervous breakdown behind one word?  Well, I guess you'll have to get the play and find out.

is one of those things that just rings true just like it's predecessor.  It's a very timely message for hurting people.  Add this to your ministry and bless someone today.

Did you miss out on "Edges of Life?"  Not to worry.  If you order by midnight  , we'll add the popular play "To the Edges of Life" at no extra cost.  That's a $9.95 value at no charge.  But hurry, I won't do this long.

O.K., if you're still reading, you must have a few reservations and I understand that but let me answer a few questions for you before you move on.

If you read this play and don't think I delivered on what I promised, I really will give you your money back.  You shouldn't have to keep something that you don't want.  I'm taking all the risk here.  All you have to do is give it a shot and see what happens.

I also meant what I said about helping you.  If you feel like it's a challenge but you want to give it a try, I won't sell you something and disappear.  There are hundreds of groups across the globe working with at least one of my plays every day-  and I answer questions and help them with scripts almost every day.  I will do the same for you.

I just wanted to say one thing: you're the best!  I started a drama ministry at our church in the "hood" and was looking (very hard, I might add) to find scripts that our congregation could relate to.  I don't really remember how I found the Playhouse, but, praise God, I did!.  The quality of the plays and skits is excellent!  I'm amazed every time I read a new one.  I'm really looking forward to producing "Angels" in the very near future.  And now today, after reading "Talk to Me", I've got our whole "season" lined up!
Anyway, thank you for being a blessing to our ministry!  I'll be praying that God continues to bless your ministry and the creativity of your mind!

God bless!

Good Evening Stan;
I just read your short segment play about the basketball player and it really touched home.  That short play is "my kids"  exact thoughts....   the kids  I work with down in the inner city have all those thoughts.  I pray that you could expand the skit with some more people and portray the thoughts and feeling of our inner city kids that being a "sports star" is the  way to make it in this world.  I would love to present something like that!  Everyone of our kids wants to be a basketball star. Your play would be a great way of showing what life  is REALLY all about.

In Christ,
Mary
