A Church Board Meeting with a Twist!

If you're interested in producing a play that's full of prayer and praise, this is it.  "Testify" comes across just the way the title suggests.

The Pastor calls an emergency board meeting because one of the members in the church has committed a serious offense.  In their quest to come up with a plan to fix the problem, they find out more about themselves than they do about the member that's in trouble.  All of the dirty laundry starts to come out as the church officers are divided between mercy and justice.  In the end, the trial draws them closer to each other and makes them much stronger.

Requires 6 main characters who will be required to sing some good old fashioned gospel songs. Approximate running time is 45 minutes if you use all the suggested music. You have the alternative of downloading sound clips or ordering the CD for $5.

 This play will work great for Mother's Day because there are some praying and singing mothers in this one.  "Testify" is a foot stomping good time that your church will enjoy from start to finish.  Here are the cast of characters: 

Pastor- Tries to be politically correct at first but eventually tells it like it is.

Brother Childs- Frustrated member who calls all leaders to a higher standard.

Brother Cutts- Takes a hard stance on everything; doesn’t give mercy.

Sister Ford-  An older sister in the church who’s ready to take a stand.

Deacon Jones- The father of the guilty party- very emotional.

Sister Stokes- The church secretary.  Has the least amount of lines but still very vital to the story.

  The music for this play takes us all the way back to our African American gospel roots with songs like "I feel Like Praising Him", "Trouble in My Way,"    "The Lord will Make a Way Some How," and "I've Got a Feeling Everything's Gonna Be Alright."  This music is certainly right on time and cleverly inserted into the story in such a way that all the characters make seem like someone you know.  If you're ready to have a good time, click the link below and be blessed.  I promise you that you won't regret it.
